Family-run shops should have a succession plan in place, says Steph Brown.
The independent, family-run shops that grace Britain’s local high streets are undoubtedly an integral part of our culture – they’re reliable and a great source of convenience in communities.
But family high street businesses are not just culturally significant, they’re also key contributors to the UK’s economy. According to PwC’s most recent UK Family Business Survey, 60% of UK family firms said they have generated consistent revenue growth this past year, while 94% plan to grow their core business.
